The process of creating this 3D model started off in Maxon Zbrush where I started off with a blank sphere. I started to form the general shape of the skull before adding in the eye sockets, nose and jaw. After I was happy with the general shape I began to carve in the more intricate details, like the teeth and flowers.

Part of Don Julio's social rebranding was wiping all 1500 existing posts off the official @donjuliotequila Instagram. This was the first post to launch the iconic brand's new campaign.
The process started with modeling the skull from scratch in Zbrush and then texturing in Substance Painter. With our textured model, I positioned lights and cameras to render the shots using Redshift. Finishing touches were done in Photoshop to create the final result.
As the lead motion designer on this account, I was very proud to be able to kick off the new look and feel of a brand that has so much history.
